Terms and conditions
The terms for using the marketplace and publishing a seller profile.
Version: 1.0

About this marketplace
The marketplace displays service provider profiles only. Communication, contracting, payment, performance and delivery take place directly between the parties outside the Platform. The Platform does not receive payments for these transactions and does not provide escrow or a financial guarantee of performance.
These terms are published in English, and the English wording is the one you agree to. The rest of this page follows the language you have chosen.
1. Operator and Definitions
The marketplace is operated by Handel Education, referred to in these Terms as the “Platform,” “Operator,” “we,” “us” or “our.”
- Trading name
- Handel Education
- Contact and complaints email
- support@handeleducation.com
“Service Provider” or “Seller” means a person or entity whose professional profile appears on the marketplace. “Client” or “Buyer” means a person or entity contacting a Service Provider with a view to entering into a transaction.
These labels do not, by themselves, determine either party’s legal status or whether a party qualifies as a consumer.
2. Scope and Acceptance
These Terms govern use of the marketplace and publication of professional profiles. They do not replace a separate agreement between a Service Provider and a Client. Publishing a profile requires its owner to accept these Terms after having an opportunity to review them.
Viewing a profile or selecting a contact option does not create a service contract or constitute acceptance of a particular price. A person dealing outside the Platform is not presumed to have accepted transaction terms that were not presented to and accepted by them in accordance with applicable law.
Courses, subscriptions and services sold directly by Handel Education are subject to their own terms, presented when purchasing those services.
3. Role of the Platform
The Platform provides space for displaying profiles and professional information. It does not manage marketplace orders, project stages or delivery, and does not negotiate or enter into service contracts on behalf of either party.
Publishing a profile does not make its owner an employee or agent of the Platform. A listing does not, by itself, constitute a professional endorsement or a guarantee of quality or suitability for a particular purpose.
If a verification badge is displayed, its meaning is limited to the type of verification explained alongside it. Verification of identity or contact information must not be interpreted as a guarantee of performance or financial standing.
These descriptions do not override any responsibility imposed by applicable law based on the Platform’s actual role or express commitments.
4. Eligibility and Accuracy of Information
To publish a service provider profile, you must be at least eighteen years old and have the legal capacity required to conduct your activities and enter into contracts. Anyone publishing on behalf of an organisation confirms that they are authorised to represent it.
Profile owners must provide accurate and current information about their identity, professional status, experience, country of operation and contact details. They must hold any registrations or licences required for their activities.
We may request verification information proportionate to the purpose and relevant risks, in accordance with applicable law and the privacy information provided when that information is collected. Identity documents will not be published as part of a public profile.
5. Profile Requirements
- Descriptions of experience, services and qualifications must be truthful and clear, without concealing material limitations.
- Profile owners must not present another person’s work as their own or use client names and logos without appropriate rights or permission.
- Indicative and “starting from” prices must be distinguished from the final price agreed for a specific transaction.
- Fabricated qualifications, results and testimonials are prohibited, as are unsupported guarantees of income or outcomes.
- Outdated or inaccurate information must be corrected. Providers must not advertise services they can no longer supply.
If paid placements are offered, they will be identified as advertising. Listing order alone does not constitute a certified ranking of Service Provider quality.
6. Agreements Between Service Providers and Clients
Before payment or work begins, both parties should document their agreement in a form they can retain and access. It should include at least:
- The parties’ identities and agreed contact channels.
- The scope, deliverables and items excluded from the price.
- The price, currency, taxes, fees and payment schedule.
- Required client materials and performance and delivery dates.
- Review criteria and the number of included revisions.
- Cancellation, delay, remedy and refund arrangements.
- Usage rights, source files and confidentiality requirements.
Recommendations on this page do not automatically become terms of an external contract unless accepted by its parties. No agreement may remove rights that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.
7. Service Provider Responsibilities
For transactions arising from their profiles, Service Providers must honour their commitments, disclose material limitations and costs before contracting, and provide invoices or transaction records required by applicable law.
Providers must notify Clients of material delays, address non-conformity for which they are responsible under the agreement and applicable law, and obtain agreement before imposing additional charges.
Removal or unavailability of a profile does not discharge existing obligations to Clients.
8. Client Responsibilities
Clients should make appropriate checks concerning a Service Provider’s identity and suitability, clearly communicate their requirements, supply materials they are entitled to use, and pay amounts due under their agreement.
Requesting unlawful services or using threats or defamation to obtain free services or benefits to which a Client is not entitled is prohibited. This does not restrict truthful complaints or the exercise of legal rights.
Requests beyond the agreed scope require an additional agreement. Such requests must be distinguished from correcting work that fails to meet agreed specifications.
9. Payments and Fees
Payments take place directly between the Service Provider and Client outside the Platform. The parties agree on the recipient, payment method, currency, transfer charges and payment dates.
The Platform does not receive or hold these transaction funds and cannot freeze or return them. External payment services are subject to their providers’ terms.
Parties should retain their agreement and payment and delivery records. Clients should verify recipient details before transferring funds. Providers should confirm actual receipt rather than relying solely on an image of a transfer.
Any fees charged by the Platform for its own services will be disclosed separately before acceptance and distinguished from the price of a transaction between a Service Provider and Client.
10. Cancellation, Refunds and Non-Performance
Transactions between parties are subject to their agreed cancellation and refund terms and applicable law, including statutory withdrawal rights, warranties and remedies where applicable.
The digital or customised nature of a service, or the commencement of work, does not automatically exclude all Buyer rights. The conditions of any legal exception must be satisfied before that exception can be relied upon.
Any refund due must be made by the party legally or contractually responsible for it. The Platform’s lack of control over funds does not release a Seller from an obligation to make a refund.
Refund policies for Handel Education courses or subscriptions do not automatically apply to independent agreements between marketplace users.
11. Intellectual Property
Profile owners retain their rights in content they own. They grant the Platform a non-exclusive licence, without additional payment, to display, reproduce and technically format profile content only as necessary to operate and make the marketplace available.
This licence does not authorise the sale of that content or its use in separate advertising campaigns without appropriate permission. The licence for public display ends when the content is removed, subject to backups and lawful retention of evidence.
Displaying portfolio work does not grant visitors permission to copy or reuse it. Rights in commissioned deliverables are determined by the parties’ agreement and applicable law, including third-party licences and arrangements concerning source files.
12. Prohibited Use
- Fraud, impersonation, forged documents or false payment records.
- Publishing work, information or images without appropriate rights.
- Offering prohibited services or conducting regulated activities without meeting applicable licensing requirements.
- Distributing malware or phishing links, or attempting unauthorised access to the website.
- Harassment, extortion, threats or unjustified disclosure of another person’s personal information.
- Collecting profile data for unsolicited messaging or selling it without a lawful basis.
- Claiming to represent the Platform or issuing guarantees in its name without authorisation.
These restrictions do not prohibit legitimate direct contact between Service Providers and Clients. Such contact is part of the marketplace’s operating model.
13. Privacy and Confidentiality
The Operator must handle personal information in accordance with applicable data protection law. Acceptance of these Terms does not constitute unrestricted consent to collect, use or disclose personal information.
For questions about personal information, or to request access, correction, deletion or exercise other rights available under applicable law, contact support@handeleducation.com. Requests are subject to applicable legal conditions, including any lawful requirements to retain records.
Profile owners acknowledge that information they choose to publish publicly may be viewed by visitors and indexed by search engines. Public availability does not authorise unlawful use of that information.
Each party is responsible for information they collect outside the Platform. Client information and account access must not be used beyond the agreed purpose, and confidential materials must not be disclosed without an appropriate right or permission.
This section does not replace any privacy information or notices required by law when personal information is collected.
14. Reports, Complaints and Disputes
Misleading profiles, impersonation, rights infringements and misuse may be reported to support@handeleducation.com.
Reports should include the profile link, an account of the relevant facts, the requested action and supporting evidence. Unnecessary sensitive information should be redacted. Do not send passwords or complete payment card details.
We review reports using the information available and may request clarification or give the profile owner an opportunity to respond, taking account of confidentiality, safety and legal obligations.
Platform decisions are limited to matters within its control, such as correcting or removing a profile or restricting marketplace use. They do not constitute a court judgment, arbitration award or binding instruction to an external payment provider.
Completing the Platform’s review is not a prerequisite to contacting a court, competent authority or payment provider. Filing a complaint does not suspend legal claim periods or payment dispute deadlines.
15. Profile Correction, Removal and Appeals
We may request corrections, remove content or suspend a profile where these Terms are breached, there are credible indications of fraud or rights infringement, or action is required by law.
Measures will take account of the nature, seriousness and recurrence of the issue. Urgent action may be taken to limit harm without treating a report alone as conclusive proof of wrongdoing.
Where lawful and appropriate, the profile owner will be informed of the reason for the action and may request a review by emailing support@handeleducation.com with supporting information.
Evidence necessary to address a dispute is not automatically deleted when a profile is removed. Retention remains subject to necessity and applicable data protection law.
16. Liability and Website Availability
Each party is responsible for its own acts, commitments and breaches. The Platform does not guarantee that publishing or viewing a profile will result in a transaction, income or any particular outcome.
A listing does not establish that the Platform has reviewed every statement or tested the Provider’s services. Any stated review or verification is limited to its actual, disclosed scope.
Website availability may be affected by maintenance or technical failures. Unavailability does not excuse a party from an independent obligation owed to another party.
Nothing in these Terms excludes the Platform’s liability for its fraud, fault or breach of its obligations to the extent provided by applicable law. No liability or right is excluded or limited where doing so is prohibited by law.
17. Changes to These Terms and Ending Use
We may update these Terms for legitimate legal or operational reasons. We will identify the version and effective date and communicate material changes through an appropriate channel.
Changes will not apply retroactively to extinguish rights that arose before they took effect. Renewed acceptance will be requested where required by law or by the nature of the change.
Profile owners may request that their profiles stop being displayed by contacting support@handeleducation.com. This does not terminate existing external contracts, outstanding obligations or lawful requirements to retain certain records.
